Can anyone ID this plane
« on: September 27, 2009, 10:59:12 AM »
I found this plane  at a local flea market. It's a hollow log I just don't know what model it is. I'd like to build it to look like what it was intended. Thanks John

Have you checked Black Hawk Models? Look under Musciano for something that matches your unknown model.

I checked Blackhawk Couldn't match . It would seem that it should have  a built up wing. And the elevator doesn't match anything I've seen. Thanks John

I guess not, it is a Stunt Master, hollow log, built up wing.
Black Hawk Models does have this one but it is a sheet wing I believe.

Thanks for clarifying that Larry.
It is indeed a Super Stunt Master as is clearly shown on the box art and decal set.

Alas John, I was not the seller nor buyer on that auction. This was just the pic posted for that sale.

I wish you would kit this plane. this was The very first plane that I successfully flew a full tank of fuel from. It must have been about 1964 when I was 11. I built the plane without any help and powered it with a Babe Bee. A friend and I spent all afternoon trying to get the engine to run and get the plane to fly. We would make repairs and wait for the Ambroid to dry enough to try again. Finally as it was getting dark I got the hang of it. I kept flying tank after tank until the only way I could keep the plane level was to watch the glow from the exhaust ports. I have been flying control line and R/C ever since.

Chris, you paint a beautiful picture with those words. I had forgotten doing that myself and how thankful I was to be able to see that wonderful glow! I think I need to do that again...

John,
In your post of Oct. 3, Jim Scott attached several photos of the plan which shows the side view. You could use that plan to get a rudder shape.
