Title: Which engine?

I build & fly the larger size 1/2 A planes for fun and I would like to use the longer lines 40 to 50 ft. to avoid the fast spinning. Falling down at my age (70) is not a pretty picture !!  n~

So i am looking at the Brodak 049 & Norvel(Big Mig) engines as I have not had much luck with the Cox Tee Dees. For my purpose a good engine is one thats easy to break in ,easy to start, runs well every time! Not much to ask .....I hope.....Sooo which new engine would you recommend ?

Norvel Big Mig 0.049, from your list. The Big Mig 0.061 or the AP Wasp if you want to go bigger.

I agree with Andrew. I absolutely love my BigMig .049 and even better is the BigMig .061... of course I also fly larger 1/2A planes as well... Anything with at least a 30-36inch wingspan. I have these engines but I have started playing with electric engines. Mainly because I can push the timer button and walk to my lines and take my handle and the motor starts up in 25 sec and I can decide before I push that little button how long I wish to fly from 90 sec to 6 min. Right now I stay with 90secs is plenty for me.

That's just me. If you wish to stay with IC engines I completely understand and respect that. If you have any questions just fire them this way and keep on flying.
