Ray, that is quite a fine stable of fillies you have there friend!

I was wondering tho, exactly how many flights do you have on the one that looks like a test stand?

About the same as my Hyper Viper not in the picture, that little deisel has about as much luck pulling the vise as the sure start pulling the viper.

Ray,

The upper center plane in the first picture. Is that one of those planes that the AMA had kids build at one time? I think, once the plane was completed, an engine was bolted on so the kid could test fly it. The kid kept the plane but not the engine, if I remember correctly.

I just remember pics of kids building them, with adult builders' assistance. Don't remember the design name.

If it's not the same plane, at least it fired off a neuron or two.

George, i am not sure about the AMA model, but that is indeed a home made copy of the Midwest Delta Dart Amazer. The kit actually came with a duckbill for tethered non motorized flying. Apparently, after mastering flying with the duckbill, you were to remove it and attach an engine. Also included in these kits was the best 1/2 a motor mount i have found for attaching a motor with tank such as a cox or cub(a) and wheels to a flat wing. The black plane behind it is called a dragonfly, plans compliments of Henry @ Va. Hobbysport. The dragonfly with a norvel .061 big mig or tankmount ame balances and manuevers very well. I have plans for both if you would like copies. Ray

As I noted before in one of those disappearing posts, I spy a couple three of my planes in there...a BarnDoor, Minnie Delta and a Rayzor. Hope they're flying well for you.

The Barndoor and the Rayzor (upper right pic#1) are perhaps the best 1/2a flatwing planes i have ever flown! Very obvious is the care, attention to detail, and the expertise included in these kits from - The Minnesota Modeler. On 30 foot lines and .061 norvels these planes are a hoot. I have been able to raise the level of my flying abilities several notches chasing after these planes in a circle! The Minnie is about to be loaded with an ame .049. Report on that swap to come. That's the plane...AMAzer. I did a search on Midwest and Amazer, and the results came up with the AMA site. Seems the July '81 issue of Model Aviation was apparently where I saw that pic. Hmmm, thought it was more recent. Tempus fugit.

I still have 2 original kits (trying to hang on to them in hopes of local kids getting interested) and 1 original built loaded with an ok cub(a). Added a little extra area to the elevator for a little more "action". Fun little flyer, will do continuous loops with at least half a tank of fuel.
