Title: What stunt model for an AP Wasp?

Thanks to all the good advice here, I have a couple of AP Wasps with two of Jan's venturis on order. Thinking of what to build, all the old British 1/2A stunters, mercury Wasp, KK Joker and things like the Chesire Kitten are all too small for Wasp power, so what would fill the bill? I would like a modern design that looks graceful, any suggestions?

Cheap Thrill, Model Aviation, December 1998.  Plans available from AMA.  Sorry, I don't have a spare set of plans.

          I believe the Brodak Pathfinder is an excellent choice. This would be readily available. Ken

How about RSM's Pinto (designed by Dee Rice) ?

I have the kit and it is top notch !

Designed for .049 to .061 power plants .

The Pinto, Hunter Stunter and Sky Sport from RSM ( rsmdistirbution.com ) will all fly beautifully on the Wasp.  From Brodak, the only appropriate model is the Baby Pathfinder. (the other small models are appropriate to mild .049s) 

Many plans are available from Barry Baxter at modelairplaneplans.com

Two more are my designs, the Baby Magician, plans from Flying Models, parts from RSM, and the Skyfire from Model Aviation.

All of the models mentioned will do a full AMA pattern competitively (the limit is the pilot, not the plane with these)

        Larry, is the Baby Magician a plane that Eric kits?. I know you have stated before that he has certain cad files on hand. A fellow club member came home from Huntersville contest last year with a Baby Magician. He's our top flyer in the club and he just loves that little plane. His is .061 powered with a nickle type Norvel. Absolutely beautiful flyer. I was really shocked at the performance of the plane. It would be nice to have a kit for that plane. Ken

Eric does not have the rights to "kit" the model, but he will cut the fuselage, tail and rib parts to match Flying Model's plans.   ;D  You have to provide the sticks, sheeting and hardware to complete the model.  Locally, there have been several built, and it gets rave reviews every time!   b1  Antone Kephart had one with a drilled venturi, pressure tapped, AP Wasp flying on 52' lines with an APC 6x2 running 25% Nitro.  With that combo, it was solid on 50' lines with lap times around 5 seconds.

  Thanks for all the help, The "Cheap Thrill" certainly looks like the style of plane I am looking for. Thanks Jim for posting a picture. Being a limey, i Have to admit I don't know what a Baby Magician looks like, anyone know where I can find a picture?

I don't know how powerful the AP Wasp is, but there is a beautiful airplane published in Aeromodeller for an OS 10 called Mirabilis.  Leonard has plans.

  Thanks for reminding me of that! I reckon that an AP Wasp could fly anything an OS 10 could do. Wasn't it a Claus Makis design? I do remember it and it was a very good looker. Now to browse my old AMs :##
  By the way thank you so much for the Tower P/L that went in my FP40. It is still going very well indeed. I still have not managed to get the original cylinder round again, but it was fun trying!

Hello Jim,
 went looking through my old Aeromodellers and low and behold, I found the Mirablis. It was a free plan giveaway too and tucked in the centrefold of the mag was a full size plan!
