Title: Turned on by Yaking Clown - Hmm, what to do?
Post by: Larry Renger on August 08, 2013, 12:36:20 PM
After seeing the Yaking Clown thread, I got to thinking of doing similar stuff.  I wanted to stay with OT or Classic designs, so here are the choices: Carl Goldberg Buster, Veco Tomahawk and Midwest Shark 15.

Any other suggestions? Comments

I have three Baby Clown Arf kits, so I actually can do a variety of things. Currently, my thinking is that the electric BC will become a Baby Super Clown because it needs the working flaps and extra area. That will still let it be Leprechuan legal!

I think that the Shark is in the cards for one of the slime time models. Then maybe something more originalwith the last kit.  :)

I garnered a couple of local contest trophies with my Shark 15 with TD 09.  I did not fly it in Classic at the VSC because my aluminum motor mount pads broke and grounded me.

I build a Shark .15 many years ago.  Can't remember what the power was.  Never got to fly it as I was made an offer while showing it off at the local hobby shop.

I have had 2 of them. The first was one I built around 1970.  Believe it or not, powered with a WORKING Fox .15!  Flew the pants off it until someone bought it from me.  I really liked that plane.

The second one was built by Tim Meek, and powered by a Norvel .15.  I sold that one, and it still shows up at the Sepulveda Basin field occasionally.  This is the one in the photo.

It is a good flying, very pretty model design.

Thanks John, my oldest son loves the Shark.  I'm sure he will want to build this.  He wants to build the Shark 45 too.
