George, i am not sure about the AMA model, but that is indeed a home made copy of the Midwest Delta Dart Amazer. The kit actually came with a duckbill for tethered non motorized flying. Apparently, after mastering flying with the duckbill, you were to remove it and attach an engine. Also included in these kits was the best 1/2 a motor mount i have found for attaching a motor with tank such as a cox or cub(a) and wheels to a flat wing. The black plane behind it is called a dragonfly, plans compliments of Henry @ Va. Hobbysport. The dragonfly with a norvel .061 big mig or tankmount ame balances and manuevers very well.
