Title: The perfect pilot for my FA...
Post by: minnesotamodeler on June 16, 2007, 12:32:52 AM
I finally found the perfect pilot for my FrankenStone Arrow--who better than the good Doctor's Monster himself?  Giving a nice wave to the people...

Windscreen on, ready to fly!

I messed with enhancements on the last pic trying to get the profile to show a little clearer. Apologies for the messy colors.

Weight 10.25 oz.

That Frankenstone Arrow should turn on a dime and give you 9 cents change.

Thanks guys...I can't decide how it's gonna fly, other than quick-reacting.  It should be different, anyhow.  Been fun building it.

That much wing at 10.25 ounces. Nice job.
You can always add weight but it's hell taking it off.

Yeah, I'm really pleased with the weight. The .061 should pull it with some authority.

Nup, not yet...been playing with my 1/4As and giving the paint plenty of time to cure out.  Anyhow, that's my public story.  Fact is, I'm a little nervous about putting it in the air, it's such a complete unknown.  But I'll get there...

And by the way...of all the on-line builds (Queen Bee, Snapper, Girocopter, Frankenstone Arrow), I'm the only one to date that has flown ANY of them.  What's up with that, guys?

Got the Frankenstone Arrow out today, out but not up...couldn't keep the engine running.  I think it was overheating inside the cowl, it would start rich and quit lean, only got it off the launcher once, about 6 feet...taxis real nice. Brought it back home to work out a tank holddown so I can try it without the cowl.  Now it's too hot, official heat advisorys are out.

Also brought out the newly repaired LittleAxe, difference being I got it up OK.  But that's another thread...
