Title: Tech Terror - Zombie version!
Post by: Larry Renger on March 11, 2011, 11:08:22 PM: Well, having spattered my "nice" Tech Terror just a week before needing it to fly at VSC, I have spent an amazing amount of time replacing the center section of the wing and the rest of the model.

The fuselage, at best, should be named Igor. I vote this the Zombie Tech Terror! Photos attached.

Post by: Larry Renger on March 14, 2011, 08:13:50 PM: I am here in Tucson, and put in the first 3 flights on the ZTT. Balance seems good. The tip weight may be a bit much, but I'll work on that later. I am tuning the pushrod length and handle settings. It should be close to trim tomorrow. Unfortunately, this evening, something slid in the car and cracked the vertical tail. This is one hard-luck plane, it seems! Easily fixed as soon as I get some CA (available at the field, fortunately).

Oddly, the engine wouldn't run well with the wood tornado prop, but likes a nylon one. Go figure! HB~> I am running 15% nitro, a Merlin glowbutton and 4 washers. Excellent power despite the altitude and temperature.

The wing is repaired, and now I need to fix the fuselage. Should be ready to go by the weekend.
