Title: Sterling 2 Piece metal 1/2A Motor Mount

I recently picked up a nice laser cut half a baby ringmaster kit.

This was the first built up wing kit I built as a kid. My plans are to replicate the original. However, my kit uses a plywood firewall. The original kit from the 70s had the two piece metal firewall.

Any chance someone has one of these original metal firewalls hidden in there box of old parts somewhere? I thought I still have the original, however while unpacking everything in the new shop it has not shown up.

I've seen them pop up on the 'Bay from time to time. An alternative would be to strip the Berkeley 1/2A test stand apart. One is on the 'Bay right now...too expensive for my taste though. See Item number 204149898025.

I built a cheesy Beginner Baby RingMaster and made my own aluminum mount much like you seek. Indeed, sometimes you have to make do with whatever is around.

   I'll have to do some digging and see if I have any of the original mounts. They might be simple enough to replicate. The groove for the landing gear is the biggest challenge. Might be until the weekend before I can get started on that.

Thanks, Dan. I’d like to find one of the two piece metal mounts from Sterling just to make it as original as possible. If I can’t find one, the later plastic mounts will work fine. Not a showstopper.
