My current project...kind of a borrowed concept from several old plans I was looking at.
More pix at the AMA CL forum.

Love it Ray!! Will be waiting for flight reports!

That looks pretty cool, Ray!

Hmm. It doesn't seem quite spindly enough for real steampunk to me -- but it's looking good so far, so who am I to complain?
Besides, you haven't finished it yet.

I'm trying to come up with some cool retro gadgetry type machinery to equip it with. Nothing has come to mind yet that doesn't involve serious drag.
Maybe a tiny gyro blade or something. Or miscellaneous tubing sticking out here and there. It does need something.

Way cool, on the order of Andy Clancy's Lazy Bee models. You might get away with just decorations withought adding extra "gubins" on the outside. Lookhard at the "Golden Era" decor schees.
Perhaps a profile Gnome in the cockpit? Or Tinkerbell? I always like "Spaceman Spiff" as my pilot.

I've seen pictures of steampunk'd Cessnas that have trompe l'oell woodwork painted on the outside.
Or you could cover the fuselage in bronze Monocoat (if there is such a thing) and ink on panel lines and rivets.

Build yourself a balsa tube to represent a pulse jet type thing, or maybe some steam fittings around the engine bay. H^^

I think an old-time steam train smokestack would finish it off nicely. You could make it removable for flying. And some wheel hub covers to look like the big "drivers" on a locomotive.
