Title: Source for 1/2a eyelets
Post by: Heman Lee on November 26, 2013, 12:18:54 PM
I would like to find a bulk source for 1/2a size eyelets to use as control lead-outs and handle connection?  I recently ordered a pack of 20 from a supplier, but they were still too large.

I looked on the Brodak site; I stand to be corrected, they are called "Thimbles".  Anyway they cost $1.45 for 2.  I would like to buy 50 to 100.

The picture shows two but if you read the copy it's $1.45 for 12.   50 will set you back $6.04.

Herman, have you tried Melvin at MBS? http://mbsmodelsupply.com/ click on ordering and go from there. He's very quick to respond. Ken

Yes, my last order was from them but 1/8" (medium)  was the smallest they have.

I just ordered 99 from the Stunt Hanger Store, since that was the maximum.

Thank for the info.

I haven't bothered with eyelets on my 1/2a stuff. They usually don't last long enough to warrant it!

I use .008" steel cable up to 48' which require eyelet/thimble.  I also make up my own adjustable Lead Out and bellcrank.

Herman,
Buddy-up with a guitar player and have him save all his old strings for you. They are usually tossed in the garbage when a new set is put on.
The strings have neat small brass thimbles on the end which make good thimbles for 1/2A lines.
