Title: Sky Streak flies again!
Post by: Larry Renger on August 11, 2012, 03:31:06 PM
I flew the refinished Sky Streak today. It needs some adjustments, and since it was getting hotter and more humid by the minute, I shut down and came home with it intact!

The handle needs adjustment, the prop was wrong, and it needs tailweight. None of them a big deal.   :)

Here is another photo.  The two together exceeded the size limit.   ''

Hello Larry, does Eric kit this plane? I have to tell you, it just looks bad a$$. My father built a Dumas Tomahawk in the early seventies with a similar covering scheme. It brings back some good memories. Great looking plane. I don't recognize that prop either. Obviously a APC but it appears to have a bit more pitch than I'm used to seeing. It certainly may be just the picture. Is that a 5.7 x 3 ? It just looks like I see more blade area. Ken

Eric does plan to kit the model.  Requests for it should speed up the process!  ;D

The prop is, indeed, an APC 5.7x3, and it makes the plane too fast on 48' lines.  I will switch back to my usual 5.5x2.5 prop.
