With all of the interest being shown in the Scientific kit designs, I wanted to show this.  This was scratch built from Scientific plans for a Black Sheep all 1/2A contest at Supulveda Basin about 20 years ago.  Had little time to build and finish it so the simplest paint job I could find was applied.  Cowl was carved from a single balsa block.  Canopy is a piece of solid plexiglass.  Flew quite nice and has done simple loops.  Mounting plate on the back of the cowl holds the nose gear in place.  About a 26" span.  The event it was built for required a Scientific kit design, built up wing with a minimum  span of 18" if I remember right, not a hollow log thing.

Good looking plane.

I have pieces of this kit, to include the fuselage and plastics. I still need to make bucks from the plastics so Dave Cowell of DPCModels can begin reproducing the kit. The fuselage side view is enough to recreate the root rib. Wing and tail are full size on the plans.

I also digitized the plan sheet full size, so it can be used to recreate this model from scratch. I did note the wing plan view shows the same wing in the Scientific Super Mustang from this series (also digitized). The only difference is the wing tips and in the case of the King Cobra, wing-mounted LG.
