Scientific Models Plans Source
« on: August 27, 2022, 07:32:32 PM »

 Hello All
Jimmy L. Dodson has been a source for Scientific Models Kit Plans for me. Jimmy is a real nice guy and has a List of available plans that I will post as soon as I get it from him. You can contact him by emailing him at  biscotti54@gmail.com. I just ordered the Musciano Scientific F4F Wildcat plans from him for a future project. Musciano made those little airplanes look real nice. He was an excelent draftsman and model builder, He built many beautiful model airplanes and boats.
                                                                                                                                                                                      Juan

To say that Walt Musciano built many airplanes is an understatement.  He wrote a 44 page autobiography for the newsletter of the now defunct "Kits and Plans Antiquitous" organization.  In that articles are listed his 258 airplane designs that were published and put into kits.  (This list includes the 88 Scientific kits he designed.)  This does not include the many articles and books he wrote on full scale aircraft and modeling.  A remarkable man with a remarkable life story.

Jimmy Dodson sold me my Super Mustang. It went to Dave Cowell so he could work his magic on it. Then the original kit came to me. Dave hasn't listed the kit yet, but I understand he will sell it complete with plastics (he made bucks from the kit plastic).

One.of my boys built Dave Cowell' repop of the Typhoon, and the other built the FW. Both are wonderful little builds. I'll try to attach photos later. Both are on RCG, one in 1/2A, the other on CL. Both are on CEF too.

           Hello jim
I have gone to the Dave Covell web site and all I could see was scale rubber model kits. Do you have a list of models available from Dave? Please let me know and post it on this thread. thanks.

Yes, Jim Dodson is a great guy! We met about twenty years ago talking about the Scientific kits. Jim sent me the cowling and patterns for my P-40 warhawk that I just finished.  He does have a great collection of plans.

Mr. V,

               Hello Jim
Thanks for posting the DPCmodels Scientific kit list. I like the P-40 Warhawk and the Hawker Typhoon Kits, they look like Paul del Gatto designs. It looks to me that Scientific used the same wing on most of the built up wing kits the difference being the wing tips.

Wow! I've seen and knew he did a lot of stuff but had no idea of that number. It would be fun to scroll through a list, anyway of posting it?
