I would like to get my hands on a genuine Scientific Little Bipe kit, or at least the plans. Any leads would be appreciated. It was my first ever wooden plane and I'd like to try again.
Thanks.

Try Currell Pattie at currellpattie@hotmail.com he used to have all the plans.

I have an e-mail out to Currell.
Thanks.

The Little Bipe was my first powered plane also. Here are my current ones, powered by a Babe Bee the other with a Spitzy .045.

Neat Bipes, my first CL plane about 1950 was an American Boy with a Spitzy .045. By the way Outerzone has recently published some of the Scientific plans at http://www.outerzone.co.uk/index.asp , no Bipe though.

I believe I got my plans from Currell also. He has been great at promoting "Hollow Logs" since the event appeared.
Scientific kits went through various changes through the years. I believe it was late sixties when they abandoned the airfoiled wing in favor of the sheet wings. Also, for example, my original Little Bipe had the airfoiled wing (with checkerboard decal on top wing) and was powered by an OK Cub (.049, circa 1952) with the fuel tank in the fuselage. The later version had a shorter fuselage to accomodate a tanked engine and, if I remember correctly shows a Babe Bee on front which was not available intil ~1956.
I believe several kits were redesigned with the sheet wing and shortened fuselages for tanked engines like the Babe Bee and the OK Cub .049A.

As I recall mine had the airfoil shaped wing and was built around 1958.
