Title: SABRE JET (NEW PICTURES)
Post by: LARRY RICE on August 09, 2011, 06:25:00 PM
This is our new Sabre Jet that will be ready in a week or two.  Wing Span 18" and uses ANY .020 to .049 engine.  It is a very fast model and lots of fun.  Walt Musciano designer this one, we moved the wing up into the fuselage and added a doubler under the wing for support.  Now to paint it.

This kit will replace the Dick Sarpolus F-86, Mig 15 and their double kit Mig Ally.  More kits are in the works.

Yes, that is the one that we made.  I did not like the way the wing fitted to the bottom of the fuselage so I slotted the fuselage to slide the wing in.  I made the wing in two pieces and added a bottom piece where the two joined together.  Since most people will be using a COX engine I altered the motor mount to fit it.  I was not happy with a small rudder piece so I offset the rudder and fin.  All told I made the plane stronger and better performing.

I did not do a great paint job, I know.  But I was under the gun as we have several orders for the Sabre Jet already and needed something to put on the box.  We do use customers models when they come in ... send us your photos of any Black Hawk Model.

Title: Love Sabres!

But c'mon Larry.  It's a JET!  Gotta have trike gear.  Even the Germans figured that out in '43.

Keep up the good work, I've bought several of your planes from Sam's Hobbies (great folks btw, I hope and pray their health improves.)

Happily crashing,
Brian

You will have to take the landing gear up with Walt Musciano, he designed this one.  I designed the ME 262 with trike gear.
