Ringmasters for this weekend
« on: October 05, 2017, 11:52:26 AM »
As most of you know this weeked is the Ringmaster fly-on-thon. Her are mine. The baby is made of coroplast and is intended to be a trainer. , Currently electric but can be switched to glow. The Baby has a foam wing, also electric, could be glow but I have never done it.
I also have a Junior, pics in the next post

My CL club with some help from tsome of the  RC guys did about 300 flights in two days. The small Ringmasters were used a lot, along with big ones and if a Ringmaster tri-plane. We had about 6-8 1/2A's,  A couple 15 size and 10-12 original full size planes. I figure I did about 500 laps, and 100 landings and  takeoff's my self.

I have never set up an electric setup for a 1/2 a plane. May I ask what specific motor, battery, etc you use. This would be
my first try at electrics period.

Thanks Bruce

I suggest you go to the electric portion of this forum and do some reading.   Then you browse Brodaks and or RSM for their reccomendations.   Then again you could go to Dennis Adimisin. H^^

Thanks for suggestions as I went to electric section and
then to Brodack who has it all setup in a 1/2a package.
I will order one to get started.

My typical setup is a Turnigy. 2730 1700Kv motor, 12 amp esc and 500 mah 3s battery. I prefer the higher KV motors because they turn a 1/2A size prop about the same as a glow .049. This setup will fly most 1/2A models but if you are flying stunt you want a motor that has a bit more power. This setup is about 100watts and for stunt I would want more like 150-200 watts.
