Title: PT-19 replacement!
Post by: Larry Renger on July 23, 2012, 04:04:05 PM
I have a thread on the new club electric C/L trainer in the main forum.  I put it there because I thought it would be of general interest.  It could fly nicely with a 1/2A size engine...hint, hint.

Check out the latest info on this in the main forum.  3 "production" models completed and ready to fly at the Compton fly-in on Sunday.  We will see how durable the design is then!

Actually, this is the second crash that the reporter did.  See it live on TV! www.ktla.com/news/local/gayleanderson/  The model survived except for the ply motor mount and I have plans on how to make that a lot more durable.  Good footage, anyway. I have a plan on how to beef up the mount and make it also a break-away.  More news at 11 (someday or other)

First day of kid training with this design was yesterday at Compton Airport.  We got through the day using only one of the 4 models available.  No damage despite frequent bounces.  A little paint touch-up on the nose is all that will be needed.  Plus it flies fine in wind that would ground the PT-19!   (PE**)
