My building partner Paul is working on a scratch built Pinto. He modified the wing tips to match it's big brother the Oriental. Paul does nice work.

  Anyone know a source for metal tanks for the Pinto? I am flying a Pinto now with a metal tank based on Mathis design and
it works well .  I have another Pinto kit to build and looking for another tank.

If you don't find one ready to go, let me know and we'll build you one. I have a CLC Pinto kit and it will need a tank, too. My plans show an Aldrich-style "pinch back" standard vent tank. Is that what you've got?

        Approx 1-1/2 fl. oz.  (2.829 in^3)
        This is the biggest tank that will fit in the stock fuselage

       Yes, Dave I have the same dimensions for the tank . The key thing is the narrow Pinto fuselage it is 1" wide.
   I bought my tank 20 some years ago from Tony Naccarato . Reading the article above I learned an easier way to fuel my Pinto.

I bought an early copy of this kit from one of the forum members. Then one of the guys on CEF tossed an MP Jet .061 CL engine my way.

I'm kind of thinking this could be a nice combination. So I'll compare the weight of the MP to a .049 Medallion (I have no Tee Dees).

What do you all think?

  My Pinto is powered well with a Medallion which has less power than a TD.
 My guess is the MP Jet .061 will have more power than you need and use more fuel.

The MP JET is powerful, but is unreliable in flying stunt. If you must use it, plan on a pressure fuel system. I had a couple of really nice planes wiped out by that engine.
