Ken Cook brought a 40 year old Corsair that had never been flown. It was built when he was 13. It flew perfectly!

Looks like a fun day.  I'm still just a 1/2A guy at heart.  Did that Cox TD-1 actually fly?  Or was it just for display?  I've wanted one forever.  Any chance of getting me in contact of the owner of the TD-1?

Mark

The TD1 is owned by Dan Banjock. He did not fly it,but has on other occasions. I don't know if it is for sale, I can ask. Dan was flying a bunch of his other 1/2As.  I flew my RSM Pinto. What a great flyer that one is!

Doc we had a ball. A real change of pace.Pure fun and laughs.  Rich Gorrill (who posts here on SH) made a miraculous save while flying his Brodak 1/2a Mustang. You had to see the save to believe it. Very few crashes actually. We got in a zillion flights, not just guys standing around and BSing.

Dan's TD-1 is a very impressive flying plane. He flies it like any other model. It took Dan some 35 years of finding bits and pieces until he finally managed to get it flight ready last fall. The most difficult piece to find he mentioned was the elevator and landing gear. He ended up making his own due to the majority of swap meet finds being broken. The Space Bug runs superb and the model flies better than any Cox model I have ever witnessed. !/2A day was very enjoyable and it was great to blow the dust off some old models. I would also like to thank Bernie from Cox International and Matt from EX Models for allowing us to continue this enjoyment by providing us Cox parts. Ken

Ken I was so happy that you and Shawn were able to play with us last Sunday. What's 1/2 A Day without the 1/2A King and Prince ? Tell Shawn that I added a little tail weight to the Skylark and he'll take her for another spin next time...Skip
