Had a closer look at the Tarno carb on a Mills 0.75. By sheer luck the Tarno has the same thread as that on the Mills 0.75 diesels. So that was why they were popular on this side of the pond! I must admit that I would much prefer the simple R/C carb (the one based on the product engine intake) for a Cox, or even the exhaust restrictor type. Now for a Mills 0.75 they are probably the best around.
As to value, they were sold here for a few pounds twenty plus years ago, but that is of little help in valuing them today. I don't think they are particularly rare and I have seen the odd one or two at swapmeets that went for between £5 and £10 pounds, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are that cheap (or expensive, depending on point of view). I wouldn't mind one for a Mills 0.75 Tomboy I have, but I will leave the price to you as I am perhaps prejudiced!
