The Christmas Special
« on: September 24, 2009, 07:24:33 PM »
We started out with 25 Christmas Specials and they are all spoken for by hobby dealers so I have 25 more sets of parts on order to make another run. Very Limited numbers.
     What is a Christmas Special?
It consist of a PT-19 kit, New Cox .049 engine, Propeller, Fuel Tank, Fuel Line, Control Handle, Control lines, Beginners book, full size plan, Decals, wheels .... Well every thing except liquids and batteries. And it is all in a Special Christmas box!
     What is the cost?
$50.00 ..... can you think of a better way to get a kid started, no matter what their age is?
How can we do it at such a low cost?
Because we do not make any money from it, we hope that kids will start flying and they will want Black Hawk Models. Well maybe we make a couple of bucks but the story sounds better the other way.

Larry, I remember reading some where that was what Jim Walker called the Firebaby, his give away plane.  Claims he made his money on the Firecat and other stuff.  DOC Holliday

The attached statement is from an article written by Walt Musiano about a meeting with Nick Frisoli (pardon the spelling) the founder of Scientific Models and it illistrates how I and all of the Black Hawk Models team feel:

Sorry it is so big

I just delivered three of the Christmas Special PT-19 kits to Big Art. He really liked the fact that everything was there right down to a prop and fuel tank. You did real good on this one Larry.

I think the Christmas special still stands Stephen. I'll have to check with Larry. I shpuld know by midday. We should hustle on this to have the kits in time for Christmas.

Thanks for the quick reply. I really enjoyed flying controlline and recently went to a meet in Baton Rouge we have a very nice field there. I just assumed that no one used it anymore.

Control line flying is fun for sure. I hope this time around you double your pleasure. Baton Rouge, eh? Can you fly year round?
Larry started this post. He'll see it and respond. Plus I've sent him a link. I think you'll know about the kits in a couple hours. Whatever you do -- if you want the kits -- order them NOW. Christmas is just a few weeks away and the kits will need time to get from California to you.
