the norvel muffler has a pressure nipple and my .061 runs great using it but wont run without it hooked up

Which Norvel? There are two versions. The Big Mig should run fine on suction, the speed version would need pressure.

Bob, on the outside, they're pretty much identical. Remove the head, the Big Mig has 5 small ports in the cylinder. The AME version which is used for combat/speed has 3 large cutouts. The AME also has a larger venturi.
