Title: Mosquito from 1968 MAN plans, building started with pictures
Post by: Dennis Holler on April 17, 2012, 09:01:11 PM
Ok,
so I've saved this clipping for 25 years from my dads pile of old mags   LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ It's a Mosquito, but heck if I see the wingspan  ???  I scanned the mag plan and then went and printed the parts and i think its about 22" span, but that seems too small.  The wod sizes fit the prints, bt i guess i just want to make sure i have it right.  Has anyone built this badboy?  Is it really this small ?   ~^

well, I picked out some balsa scraps, traced out some shapes, and layed it all out as if I had just found myself a nice old kit  VD~ and my wood is probably just as bad as some old kits  LL~ LL~ LL~

Almost looks kinda like a Mosquito...sorta....ish..... LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~

BTW, if anyone wants a copy of the plan, just let me know and I'll email it to you.  It's just a scan of the mag page, but it seems to work just fine.

Are you going to send it to Tucson to be proxy flown at the 1/2A Multi-profile-scale event?  It looks "killer"! H^^

Seeing the pic showing Babe Bee's, I would say that is the correct span.   Looking good.   If I wasn't so back logged I would ask for a set of plans.   H^^

%^@ Sorry, been far to long without any update  HB~> Had a few weeks of travel for work, some family travel, some family (KIDS), and some ah lazies.....plus for some reason I started trying to finish my Brodak Bearcat that had been sitting for a couple of years  S?P

Anyway, I'm hoping to add a few more recent pics and am wondering what weight I should use as determining if it is too portly  LL~.  It weighed 6 oz with the fuse, wing, babie bee's, control iron and tail.... no dope or cover though.. will it be ok at 8-10 oz or will it be more once I get it together?  Again, I know it won't be a STUNTER  LL~ but something other than level would be nice too  S?P

Doc, did you get the email I sent with the plan scan?  S?P sorry if it was too big  a file
