For info. Golden State was purchased by Walter Umland some time back. Later Walter sold most of the files to Brodak. Some he kept as I understand it. Before it became Golden State Models, it was called Joes Free Flight or some such name.
More than one cottage industry, here and in model railroading, has changed hands and names numereous times. They all seem to have hard to find quality items, but a very, very limited customer base, which kills them off. No market beyond first sales.
It was 'A-J's Free Flite Service', out of Fresno, CA. A MAJOR S.A.M. supplier... 'Mom & Pop' operation, with some nice profile C/L offerings as well.
1989, they also had Sterling Mustang, Yak 9, American Stunt, and others...
Their 1/2A kits were exceptional.
