Control line version of that or RC  ? How would you compare that to a norvell 049 ? Dose the brodak compare at all ? The brodak muffler doesn't have a muffler pressure tap. Dose the Wasp ? Plug adapter ?
Oh ....I see ,you mean the ones on a string ?

The Brodak Mk 1 with the Nelson head is almost as good, but way more expensive ($100 compared to $70 for the Wasp and Holuszko venturi).  The Wasp is only available in R/C form and can be used that way, but the Holuszko venturi turns it into a real CL jewel!  I never run a muffler on the engine, but have one with a Norvel pressure backplate anc drilled out venturi that is a real tiger.  The other one uses the stock venturi and works really well on suction with a balloon tank.

All these things have been discussed at length on this forum.  You can get a world of info by using the search function.  Suggest you try: Norvel, AP Wasp, Holuszko, Brodak and balloon tank.

Indeed they are on sale today but I did not see it on the sale item page. Could have overlooked it but if you simply type 061 in their search box and hit enter the first listing at the top of the page will show the Wasp and also reflect the sale price.

Thanks, Larry, bought one today.  I've never owned one, do you have any break-in recommendations?

Brings to mind of the days that I could by the Norvel Big Mig Startup (CL engine+spring starter+tank/mount) for $29.99. Sometimes less if the box was slightly damaged. A bit cheaper (as I recall) without the tank.

Break in exactly per instruction sheet.  They DO know what they are talking about!

I bought 2 more on the latest sale, just to be sure I never run out!  So far the quality has been acceptable on ALL the engines, but being fussy, I returned one that bled a bit too much fuel out the front end.  Ran great, but "weeped".  They took it back and replaced it with no problem!  Nice!!!

Another one had a tight crank, but I LOVE tight engines.  You can fit them to your own desires.  That one is now one of my main runners.

Actually, I now have 2 that I run regularly and 3 more good, broken-in ones ready to go when I have the planes.  One more in parts ready to "tweak".  Three more in the box for whenever I need them.  I don't expect to ever run out, now.  I hate it when engines I love get discontinued.  (No, the Wasp is NOT being discontinued, I just am paranoid).  (4 Holland Hornets, 4 or 5 Atwoods, 2 RR-1s, several Killer Bees, 4 Medallions, who knows how many Tee Dees in .051, .049, .020 and .010, Cub .049s and diesel versions, miscellaneous PAW .035, .049 and .061s, 2 each Space Bug, Space Hopper and Thermal Hoppers, 3 Venoms, a Cyclon, a couple of VAs, 3 Brodaks, a Stehls et al.  I may, barely, make it  through my declining years) (Sorry, this IS bragging!!!! but I love it, Nyaaa, Nyaaa, Nyaaa)

Well, I don't have Shiruken, Fora, or the new Enya.  I lack a Frog, AM, ED or Webra (well, I do have 2 Webra .09s).  I did, after 50 years score a Bambi .009 diesel (traumatic story attached), but had to do some machine work to make it runnable.  No OR Midget, Tornado .020, .049 or K&B Allyn Fury engines.  You can see I am deprived of the basics of life!  So many possibilities, so little money and time!   S?P
