Title: Flight time question
Post by: Ty Marcucci on August 25, 2012, 01:49:57 PM
It has been about 35 years since I last flew any "serious" control line 1/2A models. What I need to know, is on 35 or 42 foot lines, how long will a Baby Bee tank last in time?

The 8 cc tanks and a dual port cyl will run 3.5 to 5 min depending on nitro, prop, needle setting. That is more than enough for starting, tuning, and 10+ laps. A tad bit rich so you don't go overlean and have a flame-out, and you should still be good for 15-25 laps.

Just googled Bell YFM-1 images, there is a pic of the same model, with Cox .049s, and what appear to be 8cc tanks on it.

Ty, I am gonna try some "Spectra" lines on a Baby Bee powered model, and plan to try something close to 37'.
These lines are 30 lb fishing lines, and they are small in diameter, and don't stretch.
I picked them up at Bass Pro Shops.
