Thanks to all who helped me get the weight off and tune the BW. The Kitten now screams. Flew 8 times this afternoon until a horizontal stab problem sent me home. Here it is after flying with the new set of clothes and the tuned BW. In addition to tuning, I also put nylon washers between the tank and mount to ensure plenty of air intake. When my dad would launch, the motor would really unload. We both had a blast and the afternoon took us both back almost 50 years when he would come home from instructing in T-38's and we would fly cl together. We both came home today grinning smelling of fuel and castor oil. What a blast.....

In case you haven't read the other posts, the original weight with silkspan covering sans engine was 129 g or 4 1.2 oz., down to 92 g or 3 1/4 oz.. The BW has been tuned to run a consistent 17K rpms. This was my first attempt to cover with Ultracote. Very satisfied although it is definitely new compulsion in need of practice.... cheers

Way to go, nothing like a great day. What length lines are you using? I remember years ago we had Combat Kittens with the Cox RR-1 engines. On the 35 foot required lines of the time the boys had a hard time keeping up with them. They were out running a plane that had TeeDee 049 on bladder.

I'm also using 35" lines and it's all I can do to keep from falling over at the end of a tank. It's really fast, at least it is for me...

Outstanding Bud. Wish you were here so we could fly some combat!!

If you fly it enough, you should get used to it. Or try a lower pitch prop. H^^
