My buddy Tom has made more progress on his F-86 than I have on mine- so here is a pic of his. He made the decals by scanning drawings from a book, resizing and printing on waterslide decal paper. Topped off with inked panel lines and a couple light overcoats of flat clear. I think it looks pretty darn good! Hope mine looks 1/2 as nice.
Power will be a Tee Dee .049, like the original in the Flying Model article by Dick Sarpolus.

For those who do not want to cut out all of the pieces for this kit we do make it. At $32.00 it comes with all of the hardware and peel and stick decals.

The kit with hardware / accessories is a good deal from Larry and Captain Blackhawk. With the price of balsa, hardwood, ply, hardware and decals Tom and I probably have over $50 in 2 planes, and we had to mark, cut and shape all the pieces to get started. Add another $10 for gas going to the hobby shop a couple times and it is pretty even.
It's a win / win either way- you end up with a great looking plane regardless of where you start! I'll post a pic of mine when I get a chance to finish it, or maybe I can con Tom into doing it for me- he seems to have the panel line thing under control, and that is where I am at now.

That IS a nice looking plane.
1/2 A scale done to that standard would be a fun event - genuine .049 engines, no landing gear, no throttles, etc, just the basics + some good workmanship and a good dose of flying points.
Here's your prototype out at Selfridge Army Air Corps Base.

WOW nice looking F-86. One of the best looking jets ever built IMO. Hope she flies as good as she looks as I know it will. Tight lines to you. H^^
