Hey Dan,
The Nieuport 28 turns out to be a pretty good looking plane, I built one back in the late 70's with a Stallion .35.
I sure wish I had replaced some of the wood, the tail feathers were pretty heavy and iIended up sticking a couple oz of lead inside that nice spun aluminum cowling.
Had a hard time getting it started for the maiden flight, removed the cowl to check things out- cleaned some gunk from the fuel line and it fired up. Had my buddy hold it and I ran to the handle. He released it and it took about 1 second to realize that without the cowl and the lead stuck inside it I had 1 very tail heavy sucker on the end of the lines. Back then i had never seen a Sabre Dance or a Bi-Slob fly - but that is what I did for about 10 seconds before it did a backflip into the pavement from about 6 feet. Oh well- at least I have 1 picture of it in my scrapbook.
