Yes, it is the EZ TRAINER. Designed by Walt Musciano and kitted bt Scientific and NOW by Black Hawk Models. I will be shipping the first couple to Sam's Stuff and Hobbies. WS 18" EZ to build, EZ to adjust and EZ to fly. Kit includes our adjustable push rod.

Good show! I remember that one, but where would one get the Space Bug Junior to make it authentic? Nice fillets on the tail of the original, any clue as to the color scheme? Those black and white ad's didn't give much guidance. Perhaps Walt could give you input for the kits?
Keep up the good work, I hope to have an Me-109 done for the next Musciano contest out here in LA LA land. Smith Brother's carries a good stock of your kits. Also, I plan to have deco on the American Boy by then. That Space Bug is a howler!

I would guess that the base color would be either gray or silver and the "tips" would be orange.

According to the original plan the model should be silver with any color applied to the wing and tail tips. This will be on the instruction sheet. Fillets? There are none, just extra cement (glue) build up. We are shipping the first of these on Monday with a price listed at $20.00 to Sam's Stuff and Hobbies.
I am looking forward to the next Musciano contest too. It was so much fun!

I have the Space Bug Jr. Your big problem is the glow plugs for them. They are the smaller thread

Here is the answer to the un-asked question "Why is it called the EASY TRAINER?
Because:
with 9 basic pieces it is EZ to build
with Black Hawk Models adjuctable push rod it is EZ to adjust
and as a trainer it is designed to be EZ to fly LL~
...oh yea at 20 bucks it is EZ on the pocket too!
This plane is just pure fun!!!! We use to say "Build it tonight, fly it tomorrow" but this one you can put together in the morning and fly it by noon.

When did you try it and did you have help? The things you listed as not being helpful are the very things that make a model easy to fly. I am sorry but this is the first time I ever heard this.

You would think someone could make a plug for these. They made one for Holland Hornet. I have a Space Bug and a Jr.

Guess I will let the cat out of the bag. I shot the value of a Space Bug .049 to zero by replacing the piston/cylinder with a TeeDee piston/cylinder. Also using Mecoa conversion head. Great runs for sport flying. DOC Holliday

The conversion to glow heads wasn't a good idea. Then again who thought we would use 50 year old engines back in olden days??
