DICK SARPOLUS KITS
« on: November 11, 2011, 08:59:56 AM »
On another chat room an unenlightened fellow, wanting to persuade a newbie not to purchase a Dick Sarpolus P-51 kit, told him that we were discontinuing the model due to low sales of that kit which means that it must not fly very well.  It is clear that this person has never flown a Dick Sarpolus kit or he would be aware that they can do a complete stunt pattern and are considered to be as good or betted that most planes with a buildup wing.
Not making his point, he then compared the Price ($35.00) with the price of a much smaller model that the manufacturer claims to be a trainer and can not do a stunt pattern ($19.00).
I agree that a beginner should start off with a plane that is meant to be a trainer and not a stunt, but it is better to get the plane that you want than not get any plane at all.
WHY WE DISCONTINUED SOME OF THESE MODELS has nothing to do with how they fly.  Black Hawk Models (me) made a mistake in marketing.  I saw these great stunt models as outstanding combat planes.  So I offered several models to choose from and saturated the market - my fault.  While I am replacing some of these models with new ones I am still keeping a few.

H^^  D>K  Dick: Thanks for clearing up that subject. I hope modelers make sure they get multiple responces to questions, because not all the recommendations are accurate.  n~  <=  H^^
