Dainty Dolphin
« on: January 09, 2021, 01:48:02 PM »
Speaking of rather unusual looking 1/2a models as recently discussed about Musciano's Lilliputian on another thread, it reminded me of a 1/2A model that is on my list to build as soon as my 6 year old grandson shows any interest to fly a control line airplane.  This Dainty Dolphin was published in the Oct 59 American Modeler.  The name of the designer/contributor is not shown.

Looks like an Andy Clancy design. (Easy Bee series of RC models).
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

Cute enough to be a Keith Laumer design, but it doesn't have any of the construction tell-tales I'd expect. Somehow, it reminds me more of a penguin than a dolphin. Maybe from some similarity with the non-flying full-sized pilot trainer of that name?

Plans are on Outerzone.

This link may not work, but a search should get you there.

Still no details on the designer.
