Cox .010 for a Micro Ringmaster
« on: June 04, 2012, 04:41:27 PM »
I'm building a Micro Ringmaster from a kit made by Pat King.  It's for use with a Cox .010 glow engine.  Upon strict search, I found myself to be entirely without an .010, although I do have an .020.  Does anyone have a Cox .010 engine for sale?

Thanks.

Dave

I've got a PeeWee 020, which probably puts out about the same power as a TeeDee 010.  It's in the bottom of the bucket-o-engines, where it's lain for the last two or three decades.  If you're interested, send me a PM with what you think is a fair price.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Dave,
Ebay is a good source if you stay away from the new engines in their containers. The collectors push the prices up a lot.

Good luck on eBay.  Right now all are $70 + and climbing.

The reality is that your more than likely not going to find the price any less than that on Ebay. The majority of the .010's sell at or slightly above $75.00. If you do manage to score one on the bay for less consider yourself ahead.  Trying to find one in need of repair can also be a stretch as these engines never seemed to lose their wow factor. Hopefully someone on here has an extra. In addition , the tank back seems to be a quite difficult part to obtain. Ken

Hello Pat, I was looking on Cox International site as well as others with no luck. I see Mecoa is offering the tanks. As for the .010  www.exmodelengines.com  will be listing some .010's in the next few days that were refurbished. Ken

Use the finger of a latex glove for a balloon tank.

You might try Yahoo's 049 Collectors group (forum of 1/2 A collectors and such). There is lots of activity there but they will know what an 010 is worth.  y1
