Name that glowhead!
« on: April 26, 2011, 09:08:11 PM »
Hello,

Playing around with some engines today, I realised that there were alot of different manufactures making 1/2a's with glowheads. So I took a pic and thought I'd post it here thinking some might enjoy it.

Who can name the manufacture and model that the glowhead was designed for?

Good luck,

Mark

I'll take a stab at it.  Clockwise from top left:  Atwood Shriek, Fox, Holland Hornet, Unknown, Cox standard, Holland late model, Cox high compression, Unknown and Testors.
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

The fourth one in the top row I believe is a K and B Tornato plug.

The second from left on lower row appears to be a Cub.

The gold one appears to be a Testors-made replacement for a Cox Babe Bee.  My experience with those was that the engine did not run as well.

The plug above the gold one may be a K&B/Aurora.

You guys made that easy...I thought the hardest to ID would be the gold Testors head for Cox engines followed by the late model Hornet head made by Dynamic.

Top row   L-R: Atwood Shriek, Fox, Holland Hornet, K&B/Aurora Tornado & Cox standard.
Bottom row L-R: Holland (Dynamic) Hornet, Cub, Cox high comp., Testors (for Cox) and Wen-Mac/Testors.

I totally forgot to add the Gilbert .07 glowhead!
