Title: BRODAK 061 OR NEW 049 ???

Hi fellow addicts

1/2 A Pathfinder with
Brodak new 049 or Brodak 061

Any recommendations please ???

Dunno about the Brodak II .049, but the earlier one (blue cylinder) is about on a par with a reed-valve Cox, pretty mild.   Based on that, I'd go with the .061.

Save yourself some dough and buy the AP Wasp .061.  It will run circles around the Brodak in my experience (with 2 of them so far).  See the Wasp thread above.

I ordered the AP 061 from Tower on my account

is it possible to use standard glow plug please?
( I ordered one spare with the motor )
do you use with carb locked open?

The Wasp uses a glowhead insert, not a standard plug.  Replacements are readily available, though they cost about $6.  Its retainer/head is threaded the same as C*x/Norvel/VA engines, so you have some alternatives available.  The obvious one is C*x glowheads.  Also a standard plug adapter head can be purchased from MECOA anytime you want to cut the power output down.  Of course, the bright side of this is that the Galbreath/Nelson adapter head fits and gives a performance boost!
