Blackhawk Sky Rocket build
« on: January 11, 2010, 08:10:41 PM »
As usual, I built a model at the AMA Convention in the Knights of the Round Circle Booth.  Generously donated by Blackhawk Models, it went together beautifully, as you can see from the joint fits.  The wood was excellent.  Good job, Larry! (not me, the other Larry)
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

Looks good so far -- are you going to post pictures of it flying?
AMA 64232

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Actually, I am donating it to our club raffle.  If I spend the time to do a good finish, I would rather do a P-38 or TigerCat.  There is no point to doing a crummy finish.

Larry,
Did you draw much of a crowd? I did want to go but the car had a flat and by the time we got a new tire it was to late. Maybe next year.

As always the hit items at our booth were the Firebaby and the Cox PT-19.  None of the competition planes seem to attract any real attention.   HB~>  People stop by to reminisce, not get involved.  :(

My Baby Nobler DID take 1st place in the Sport division of the display competition despite going up against all the R/C jobs!
