Thanks for all you did on this Larry

If you have some coin with them please ask them to offer the bigger Stunt Rocket again...I don't want the 1/2a version

Noted ---you did not post a web address...I guess that will come with time?

As to the Giant Stunt Rocket, I am pretty sure that one will not be coming back.  There a few reasons that I suggested that it is not a good idea to bring it back.  First: sales were very low and the main reason is (Second reason): Builders today, generally, do not understand "Planked Fuselage" type of construction.  When we offered the stunt Rocket we had 2 other kits that used a planked fuselage - one ready to be boxed and one ready to be laser cut.  The reaction to the planked fuselage caused us to throw 50 kits in the trash and cancell the laser cutting of the other kit - our cost was $1,500.00.
The misunderstanding about planking a fuselage is that it must be water tight and be very difficult.  In reality the planks can be 1/8" apart because they are NOT structural, they are cosmetic only and will be covered with silk span.
The blow back from so many modelers and how few of the kits that were actually built is what caused this kit and several others demise.

Dave
The original AT article is on line, just google Musciano Stunt Rocket. The AMA sells the plan. Easily scaled to any size if you want to build a 1/2A version.

Larry That is a shame on several levels...trash canning kits actually made, me ill to read, absorb , and think about...not because of your financial loss... but for much closer selfish reasons... BUT I do appreciate the realities of acquisition and marketing and acknowledge YOUR company loss

If there is any chance you know of a floating un-built large Stunt Rocket kit out there...try to hook me up...since I saw one, and only one I saw fly ..That particular model has..will be, and still is, in my Bucket list to build and fly

I have the full sized pans but REALLY REALLY prefer to work from die or laser kits.... I suck at hand cutting the parts to scratch build

BTW I did read all the BS about Planking and thought your arguments very reasonable and in line with my way of thinking about a MISSILE Shaped Fuselage

While I am pleased that Blackhawk Modles is back, their current website and ordering system is a little lacking. I went thru the whole process to order a kit and had to confirm my order and still have no clue what shipping will be. Free will be nice but if they want to charge $14.95 or some other unreasonable number I will cancel the order. Waiting for an invoice that hopefully sheds some light on the subject.

Thanks to the ever rising costs, $14.95 for shipping isn't to far out. I just shipped a Ringmaster to Texas from Indiana yesterday. Ground shipping was $16.45 and Priority is $18.05 and UPS and FEDEX is not any cheaper. And they charge extra for over size boxes.
