So, anyone going to build one? Or two and fly indoor combat. That would wow the crowds.
Of course you would have to choriograph the flights so you have something left to fly later. But the kids don’t have to know that.
Steve Shiff and Steve Sobel used to put on beautiful dual stunt routines. Makes a great show. One plane decorated like CocaCola, the other like 7-Up.
It is great to get the kids going roundy round, but then we need to show them the potential in CL Flying.
What is incredibly stupid is that no RC club has stepped up with a buddy box and Vapor to train the kids in RC. As slow as the Vapor flies, I can’t imagine crashing one if the training pilot isn’t asleep. At the EAA show at Compton Airport, they do outdoor RC flight training in addition to our CL training. Why not at the AMA Expos?
Yes, I am being disloyal to CL! But flying models is flying models, and we are running out of youngsters. Get ‘em any way you can. After all, how much CL hardware we use is dependant on the RC fliers? Fuel, props, balsa, dope, covering? You think we support this stuff? Can I get some of what you are smoking?
