Baby Flite Streak

Good People Here:

I built a Brodak kit version of this model, so it lacks the firewall mount of the (apparent?) original. It flies nicely enough with lots of added nose weight and a Medallion .049. Am thinking of sawing off the front end and installing a firewall mount as I've got several 1/2A firewall engines that might make for more useful power.

Can one of the brethren (sisteren?) here kindly provide a distance measurement between the wing leading edge and the front of the firewall, this from an original version? Wouldn't want to shoot blind in making the mod.

On t'other hand, if someone would like to try convincing me that this mod would be a mistake, I'd be open to hear objections.

All the best in the New Year!

Ken: Yes, that appears correct. Thanks for looking it up and posting the link.

M'man: Good food for thought there. I've got a high-snort reed valve Cox, but I do admit that the Medallion looks much nicer and runs well enough. Either way, shop work on the snout end of the BFS is in order. Thanks to you also.
