Babe Bee tank backplate material
« on: December 04, 2017, 06:49:34 AM »
Hi.  Does anyone know what material was used to make the 1960s metal backplate of the metal fuel tank on the Babe Bee engines?  And what type of finish was used?  Thanks!

I'm going to say that it appears to be Zamak with a zinc chromate plating. I don't know this factually just going by what it looks like which is also based on cost.   Maybe Larry Renger could add a more precise explanation if he sees this. Ken
