One of my customers sent this picture of our Dick Sarpolus AT-6 kit. It has a 28" ws and will do all of the stunts. Nice job.

I'm not very familier with 1/2a engines, what engine is in this plane ? and prop size ? It looks great!!

That looks like a Big Mig Norvel .061. I've built a couple of Dick Sarpoulus 1/2A designs and can definitely vouch for them .....they fly very well. I flew mine on 45 foot .008 lines and had good times with it. I have a bunch of Norvel engines and plan to build this very kit.

I saw that plane (or like it) in the latest Control line world and I too plan to build one. Just looks like a whole lot of fun. Will it do pretty much the whole pattern?

All of the Dick Sarpolus designs in our line will do the stunt pattern. We produce the "Texan", Spitfire, Coursair, and Zero. You will find that several of our authorized dealers carry these models or you may order direct from Black Hawk Models.

Interesting that these can perform
or be made to perform in the right hands

How well would this type fly with less engine??

Brodak 049, or Cheap Cox types ?

Performance depends upon several factors, wing loading, drag, power output, balance, moment arm and many other factors. The best performance on this model is with a Tee Dee or Norvel engine however a Black Widow comes in a close second. You may find that on low power engines the plane will float and not perform up to your expectations however we have NEVER recieved a complaint on this line of models. We have heard from modelers who used a Black Widow and they were satified with it's performance and feared that a more powerful engine would be to fast for them to handle.

AS I remember, Dick was using TD .049s on the several that he published in Flying Models.  They wiil, indeed, do the whole pattern!

I prefer a Norvel .061 in one of these.  Haven't tried the Mark II Brodak .049......  don't know how they relate to a TD.
