I wish I knew the easiest way to ask this...
I was thinking about some of the cool anodizing that exists on some of the engines available. The Cox engines especially such as the RR-1, Golden Bee, Texaco Black Widow, and of course the red Pee Wee tanks. To me it is a really nice attraction. One other that comes to mind is the TT 07 with the purple head which is no longer in production I am told.
I think what I like is that they are so much like the Hot Wheels Spectraflame paint jobs. Some of these engines almost seem to glow!
Additionally there have been some who have done some really nice custom work. Tim Wiltse is noteworthy as he also does some custom machine work to enhance the engines. Tim is the only one I have seen (so far) that has done some custom Pee Wee work too.
OK. Here are my questions
I would like to know of other really nice custom anodized engines. I just think a gold or red or purple anodized Space Hopper would just be smashing!
Or how about Pee Wee 020 that is all green with a black drive washer ala Golden Bee.
Alas some engines don't lend themselves to this process, the Norvel for example would be difficult. I understand that for anodizing to look its best the aluminum needs to have a high polish.
I wish I had the means to try doing this myself... Maybe one day...

I noticed on the site that the Witch Doctor .049 has a chromed cylinder liner. Does this give higher rpm's? Does it give longevity? Has anyone that frequents here ever tried one of these engines? It surely grabs my attention. I've come pretty close in making an engine per the Venom specs. I have a few mousers just waiting to burn some circles. As I've been told I won't be satisfied until I blow one of them up. I've had one of the circlips that hold the reed in pop out and almost come through the side of the block. One of our club members has a Black Widow with the rod sticking out of the side of the case. The search for more power S?P

Very cool site! I didn't know Tim had another site...I've seen his site for custom machining parts for Cox products.
