A Testor's Question! Why did the R/C Skyhawk start out with a Golden Bee?

The thread title says it all.
I don't know why I remember this but I was hoping someone here might know why the Testor's R/C Skyhawk started out with a Cox Golden Bee engine?

I have somewhere, information in an article out of AAM , a review of the Testor's Skyhawk and in the text it mentioned that this plane came with a Cox Golden Bee! Later it did get a Testor engine as attested by this part of an ad from Jan. 1971 AAM.

I will dig the review up soon.

I have a feeling the story might be interesting.

First of all the Testor R/C plane is a low wing Cherokee, not a Skyhawk. The radio system was produced for Testors by ACE R/C (single channel galloping ghost system)

The Cherokee was introduced with a Cox Golden Bee because at the time Testors had not acquired Wen-Mac from AMF. After Testors got Wen-Mac and started making plastic tank mounts for the Wen-Mac, the Goden Bee was replaced by the Testor  "Wen-McCoy" .049.

I had one of those, with a WenMac .049.  I still have the engine and the galloping ghost actuator.  I have no idea what happened to the radio.
