Hi, Larry.

I was given a TD-1 to restore this evening.  I also have a TD-4 on the shelf.  I am well familiar with the TD-3.  But I'd really love to know what the TD-2 looked like, and why Cox never put it into production.  Did you learn anything about the TD-2 when you were working for Cox?

Sorry, no idea what a TD2 was. ☹️
If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before. 🤠

Well, if Larry doesn't know, I don't think there is anyone else alive that may know. I have one of each, and just to be sure, the TD-4 was the profile plastic trainer type plane, correct?  If so then I do have a sample of each. I don't recall ever reading or hearing is a TD-2 was ever produced. Might be a good question for teh Cox Engine Forum??

Type at you later and HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!

Dan, no one on the CEF knows what it would have been either.  I always wondered why they didn't just make the TD-3 the TD-2, and the TD-4 the TD-3.  There must have been an in-house prototype that was designated TD-2 at some point.  I guess some engineers took that to the grave with them.

Yup, the TD-4 was the one with the reaaaly flexible wing, plastic fuse, and adjustable nose that rotated up or down for skill level.
