Title: 1/2a Line Lenght (061)
Post by: Motorman on June 21, 2025, 03:21:46 PM
Is anyone flying Norvell .061 stunt ship on 52 ft lines?

I've got a Pathfinder that flies good on 42' but the engine is running in a flat 4 stroke to keep the lap times reasonable. I want to lean it out for more power with a bigger prop and longer lines to see it's potential.

Antone Kephart flew a Baby Magician on 52’ .008 lines. Power was a Tee Dee 049 running high nitro and bladder pressure. I suspect you could get that performance with the .061.

My experience with the .061s is a 5.5x2.5 prop works best. The engines like to rev, not lug big props. Overheating is the issue.

Have you tried the apc 6-2 tooth pic? Works good on my Pathfinder with 20% nitro.

I copied a Rev Up 6-3 wood in CF and depitched the tips to 1.75. Haven't had a chance to try it but it has a more stunt like blade area so we'll see.
