Getting back into these. Now that these manufacturers  are no longer are in business to manufacture engines or  fuel, what is recommended as far as nitro & oil percentages ?  Oil- castor , synthetic or a blend?
These engines have different requirements than air versions.
If you know of any manufacturer producing fuel for 1/2A s, I'd be interested in that , too.

1/2a's like a higher Nitro level then normal R/C fuel, about 25%. Oil percent (all caster or at least 50/50) should be 18-20% for Coxes and probably higher (25%-28%) for the Cubs and Wen-Mac as their tolerances aren't as close as the Cox engines and will wear fast.

Surf the 'net for 1/2a engine fuel, they're several companies making fuel that fit these specs.

Good luck,

I use Sig Champion 25% nitro.  Works good for me in Cox, Norvel, Fox, 1/2A's.
It's only paranoia if they aren't really after you.

Tower sells a quality 1/2 A fuel with 25%  nitro and 18% Klotz oil, but ouch  $7.99 for 8 ounces !
Glad my thirsty R/C engines don't need that stuff !!

There is also a guy on ebay that sells fuel.  His name is glowplugboy.  Cox International also has some info on their site about mixing your own fuel.

I do not have a local source (hobby shop is great, but about an hour away through tough traffic! LOL!!) so I have bought the 1/2A fuel from "Glowplugboy" on ebay.  24% Nitro, 17% all castor.

Kinda steep, $10 a quart IIRC, plus shipping, but a quart goes a long way with 1/2As! LOL!!

I would also use the Sig Champion 25% if I could get it.
