1/2 A Flite Streak

(1/2) > >>

Manuel Cortes:
Hello all.
IŽm planning to buid a Baby Flite Streak with a Cox 049 Sure Start (Reed Valve, not tank included).
IŽll agree any comment about the stuntability of this gem, and if that engine will be capable to make an approximation of a FAI Schedule with the plane.
Please, line lenght, fuel used and approx final weight will be interesting to know "where I am".
Thanks in advance.
Manuel.

For comparison I built the Baby Barnstormer which is a 049 version of a similar size 35 stunt plane.  The Baby Barnstormer is about 24 inch wing span and has 119 Sq inch wing area.  My Baby Barnstormer weighs 5 3/4 oz and I fly it on 42 ft .008 dia stranded lines.  Cox .049 reed valve engine on 25% nitro with an APC 6 x 2 prop.
Fuel tank is 1 1/8 x 1 1/8 x 9/16 inch, almost 1/2 oz capacity for 3+ minute flight time.

Lots of fun, enjoy yours when you get it finished.

I like mine so well that I have built a 17 inch WS one for a Cox 020 and am now building a 15 inch WS for a cox 010 TD.

Manuel Cortes:
Hi all.
Clancy, with 42 ft arenŽt you having trouble with line tension in the upside of the hemisphere??
It seems to be a great line lenght for a timble drone Cox.....
Thanks for your time.
Manuel.

Had no problem at 35 foot length, but want to try 42 ft to increase lap times.  On 35 ft it has very good tension and is quite responsive but about 3 1/2 sec. lap times.  I have a fiend, Jack Sheeks who is a great flier, and he will test it for me when weather permits.
By the way we are flying the Cox 020 IBTW Barnstormer on 30 ft lines fine.
