Excuse the bad pun...Nevertheless I refurbished my 25 year old Sig Deweybird.  Power is a Cox Babe Bee.  It really flies great!

Very nice.  I had one of those when I was a kid.  I flew the snot out of it, and learned basic stunting.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

 Looks great Larry! y1

I've always thought the Sig Deweybird was a neat little plane, I keep telling myself I've got to build one sometime.

Hi Larry,  If I was a little closer to the West Coast, I would love to enter the Kwikee Stunt event.  That would surely be more fun than fighting snow flurries and strong winds here in Illinois.  LOL

Well, in the spring, stage your own event!  The rules should show up on KOTRC.org pretty soon if not there already.  And they have been posted in this forum and in "Half A Flyer" and "Stunt News".  A search should reveal all!

Gil, I'm pretty sure that the kit is still available from Sig.  And it's a nice kit.

I'll post a "before" picture when I get home from my Thanksgiving trip.

Joe, Yes, this is the same plane you flew.  What a rainy day that was!

Pat,  I don't have purple, but I have yellow/black and yellow/white Deweys in the works.

Larry, Having our own contest is a great idea.

And yes, Sig does have the kit available.  I actually saw Dave Shipton fly these many years ago, and I was amazed by their/his performance.

By the way, Pat King has a laser cut Dave Shipton 45" span Deweybird kit available. The "stunt" version is reported to fly great.  #^

I have one of Dave Shipton's Cosmic Wind kits that also is supposed to be a great flier -- maybe I will get around to building it some day.  HB~>

Hi John,  I do have the kit of the 45 inch Deweybird from Pat King.  The kit looks excellent.  I will start on that project after I finish up the two Deweys, a couple more Baby/Beginners Ringmasters for next year's Flyathon, a White Lightning, and a Snapper.  Too bad that life gets in the way of my building.  LOL

Hi Larry,

I'm hoping to be flying with you at next year's Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon!!! The first weekend in October -- Ringmaster owners mark your new 2012 calendars!!  y1

How about a build thread for that 45" Deweybird with lots of photos???

I found another "before" picture.  'Oil soaked and broken many times.  It actually lost weight with the repairs and repaint.
