I will have more details on Sunday but we have 9 entries in Fox 35 speed and 11 in Perky, there are also other pilots that will register for Fox 35 speed on Sunday.

Henry Nelson was at the contest and flew his Fox 35 speed model and came in at 103.12 mph, you would never know by the size of the model, but it was very light. He converted an old racing model for the event. Bill Hughes and John Moll were in the Mid to low 90's

Henry should know about building light and enough wing on a clean design will go fast.  Just look at his F2C history.  Way to go Henry,  show them kids.

that be smoking Henry. 2 lines is a lot to drag around.
I just broke 101 with the Geezer speed (la .25 proto) and that was hard enough!

When I first built my model it was flying at about 70 mph, but with newer motor that had more compression that ran better, then add the RSM hemi-head, and worked on my takeoff I have the model up to the 78 mph range. Thought you might enjoy seeing the differences in the models flown.

Tims motor (62 mph) wasn't running that good so I think that was the problem there. John Moll's model that flew at 70 mph has flown much faster just with a different engine. How the engine is tuned makes a big difference in the speed, the model itself is as not as important as the motor.

Maybe some day i will learn how to build like Carl

Carl's model is a real piece of art! Larger than most of the Fox.35 speed models, and it has a very nice clear finish. It must be quite light, as when the engine quits, it actually glides for a lap or so before a nice touchdown! A classy model by a classy guy!

Thanks for lots of great pictures.   The last one of the flood line is hard to imagine.  How did Valley Park escape?

Thanks for lots of great pictures.   The last one of the flood line is hard to imagine.  How did Valley Park escape?

The new levee that they built on the north side of the river held, but Valley Park didn't escape unscathed. There were major water back ups, and I think the levee got topped in a few places. There was some minor flooding on the north side of the levee, but not near as bad as it could have been. The flooding was as bad as it was on the south side because of the levees that were built on the north side. Lots of discussion about that after the flood, as usual.
